The Document! X Style Picker allows you to apply or remove existing s to content in your Project as well as create, edit and delete s and Template Style Rule Overrides.
The Style Picker will become active when you have a content editor open and active.
The Style Picker will display Style Rules that are defined in the custom Stylesheets in your Project or the active Custom Template that are applicable to the currently selected content in the active editor.
An available Style Rule in the Style Picker will be displayed as:
A preview of the Style is displayed in the top section, the name of the Style Rule is shown in the bottom left. The CSS of the Style will also be displayed as a tooltip. The Edit and Delete buttons can be used to directly edit or delete the Style Rule.
A Style Rule can be applied to selected content by ticking the checkbox beside it. If a custom Style Rule is applied to the selected content it will be displayed in the Style Picker with a tick and a highligh strip:
Creating a new Style
- Click the New Style toolbar button.
- In the Create New Style Rule wizard choose where you would like to save the new Style Rule, choose a name for the New Style Rule and set the desired properties.
- Click Finish.
Apply an existing Style
- Select the content you want to style either by highlighting with the mouse or selecting the element from the Page Map;
- Tick the checkbox beside the Style Rule or Style Rules you wish to apply;
- The selected content will have the selected Style Rules applied.
Remove applied Styles
- Place the cursor within content that has a applied (or select it on the Page Map);
- Untick the Style Rules you no longer wish applied to the content.
Edit a Style Rule
- Click the Edit Button beside the Style Rule;
- The Edit Style Rule window will be opened in which you can edit the properties of the Style Rule.
- Click OK. The updated Style Rule will be immediately reflected in any open content editors, and in the Style Picker.
Delete a Style Rule
- Click the Delete Button beside the Style Rule;
- Answer Yes to the confirmation prompt;
- The Style Rule will be permanently deleted.
Changing Element Type
Changing the Element Type allows you to change (for example) a paragraph into a Heading or vice versa.
- Select an element in the Topic or Content File editor.
- Select the desired Element Type from the Element Type combo.
