Many of the available Metadata Elements are designed for use with specific Item Types. For example, a MethodType Metadata Element will only return a useful value if used in the context of a Method (i.e. in a Method Page Type, or a Scrap used in a Method Page Type).

The documentation for the individual Metadata Element will identify the valid Item Types and when you are using the Page Type editor or Scrap editor, the list of available Metadata Elements will be filtered automatically to avoid accidentally using a Metadata Element in an invalid location.

Using a Metadata Element in an invalid location may result in unexpected output and/or build errors.
