Project Spell Check allows you to quickly and easily check for spelling errors throughout the project.
Project Spell Check Fundamentals
Run a Project Spell Check
- Select the Project Spell Check option on the Tools tab.
- The Project Spell Check window opens. You can select specific project elements to spell check by selecting or clearing items in the Spell Check In list.
- Select Execute to run the spell check operation.
- A list of items with misspelled items is displayed in the grid at the bottom of the window.
Double-click an item in the grid to open that item for edit.
Select an item and click Ignore to ignore the misspelled word(s) listed in the Misspelled Words column when checking spelling in this project.
Select an item and click Add to add the misspelled word(s) listed in the Misspelled Words column to a global dictionary so that the word(s) are not be flagged as misspelled in any project.
Ignore a word when spell checking in this project:
- Select an item in the Project Spell Check results list.
- Select the Ignore button.
- The word or words listed in the Misspelled Words column are now ignored when running the spell check in this project.
Add a word to the custom dictionary:
- Select an item in the Project Spell Check results list.
- Select the Add button.
- The word or words listed in the Misspelled Words column are added to a global custom dictionary that is used when running the spell check in any project.
Navigation Bar
When you open an item from the results grid (e.g. by double clicking), a Navigation Bar opens above the document tab area:

The navigation bar makes it easy to step through the items on the results grid.
- Select the < button to move to the previous item in the results grid.
- Select the > button to move to the next item in the results grid.
